Account Manager

We're looking for a natural relationship-builder to join Kiddlo as our first Account Manager. You'll be the face of Kiddlo for our seller community and brand partners — helping them grow, solving their problems, and making sure they love being part of the platform.

Apply for this role
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 + bonus

About the role

Kiddlo is building the UK's most trusted marketplace for pre-loved baby and children's gear. Our sellers are at the heart of everything — without great supply, there's no marketplace. Your job is to make sure our sellers feel valued, supported, and set up to succeed.

As our first Account Manager, you'll work across two areas: individual parent-sellers who are power users of the platform, and brand or trade partners — nursery shops, children's clothing labels, and baby brands looking to offer seconds, samples, or end-of-line stock through Kiddlo.

You'll report directly to the founding team, have a real impact on the health of the marketplace, and help shape what great account management looks like at Kiddlo as we scale.

What you'll do

  • Own a portfolio of Kiddlo's most active sellers and brand partners — acting as their primary point of contact and strategic advisor.
  • Onboard new key accounts, helping them list effectively, price competitively, and build trust with Kiddlo buyers.
  • Run regular check-ins and business reviews with top sellers, identifying opportunities to increase their GMV and deepen their engagement with the platform.
  • Identify and pursue inbound and outbound partnership opportunities with baby brands, nursery retailers, and children's clothing labels looking to shift surplus or second-hand stock.
  • Negotiate commercial terms for promoted listings, featured placements, and sponsored content opportunities.
  • Work with the product team to relay seller feedback — you're the voice of our community internally.
  • Resolve escalated seller disputes and complex account issues quickly and professionally, maintaining trust on both sides of the marketplace.
  • Track account health metrics (listing rate, response time, conversion, dispute rate) and proactively intervene when accounts are at risk.
  • Collaborate with marketing on seller success stories, case studies, and community content.
  • Help shape our seller onboarding flows and documentation based on patterns you spot in your accounts.

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of account management, customer success, or partnerships experience — ideally in a tech or marketplace environment.
  • Strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal — you make people feel heard and valued.
  • Commercially minded: you understand what drives GMV, seller retention, and LTV, and you're motivated by hitting targets.
  • Organised and proactive — you manage a portfolio without dropping balls, and you follow up without being chased.
  • Comfortable with data: you use dashboards and reports to understand account health and prioritise your time.
  • Problem-solver who stays calm under pressure — when things go wrong for a seller, you're the person they trust to fix it.
  • Genuine empathy for the parents using Kiddlo — you care about the experience on both sides of the marketplace.

Nice to have

These are extras, not dealbreakers — we care more about mindset and potential than a perfect CV.

  • Experience in a two-sided marketplace (e.g. Etsy, Depop, eBay, Vinted, Not On The High Street).
  • Background in retail, e-commerce, or the baby/kids industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
  • Experience running commercial partnerships or affiliate/reseller programmes.
